Recent debian upgrade cause my X server failed to start.

linux-image-2.6.32
xserver-xorg 7.5
i915 intel graphics

you can ignore the error FATAL: module fbcon not found.
the real problem might be in

$cat ~/.xsession-errors

In my case the problem is the im-switch missing default configuration files.
reinstalling im-switch solved the problem.
